Has your sexuality ever been in question and if so why?

My whole family thought I was a lesbian. Ever since I hit grade 7 they would tell me I’m a lesbian. (I was a tomboy who had short hair, wore boy clothes and hated makeup) I was the complete opposite of my two sisters.

In high school dating seemed pointless, as everyone just broke up within a week. So I decided to wait until high school was over before dealing with the opposite sex. (Side note: religious parents loved me and used me as a role model.) I also had a lot of anxiety that I wouldn’t understand until later in life.

I always had sleep overs with my girl best-friends (One who turned out to actually be a lesbian and the other was just labeled as one.) And we’d share a bed, laughing throughout the night.

Anyways once I was eighteen and out of High school I started dating one of my guy friends and my family was floored. Like they were 100% convinced I was gay.

I can see why they assumed I was one. Everything becomes clear with hindsight.
