81 Pounds Down

Here's the thing: that play was thrown 107 times in the NFL that season. 106 of them were not intercepted. The ONLY TIME that play was intercepted was our pass at the end of the Superbowl. One of their CBs (I forget his name) used to play for the hawks and saw the way we set up. He told Malcom Butler what was happening. Normally, Butler would have stepped forward and ran into Percy Harvin (15) who was stationary, leaving Lockette (89) open for the split second he needed to make the catch. If you look at the play, you see that Lockette does not expect Butler to be there, and how his arms were extended to make the catch and he was a second late. Wilson was throwing to a spot, and Butler got there a nano second before Lockette.

Believe me, I've stressed over this SO MANY FUCKING TIMES and watching the video again still makes me want to slit Brady's throat for being a total fuck. It was the right play to call, because that should have worked, and there was no way for us to know that Butler would have known the play. If it had been incomplete, we would have run it, because Lynch was the best running back. We assumed they were expecting the run, but they were expecting the throw. If it were anyone else I would be so much less mad, but the Patriots are a bunch of lying cheating Trump-loving fucks who ought to be killed.

End of rant.
