Yeah, that was me 5 years ago. Then I got PIA and have had zero issues ever since.

Basically you connect to one of many servers located throughout the US and the world, and then anytime you click a link your browser will first go through that server and then to the site itself and anyone looking at who's accessing the site will only see the IP address of the PIA server.

So this means that when you are downloading a torrent and a company wants your ISP to send you a "You've been bad" letter, they can't because the only IP address they can see is one that is far away from your actual location and is used by thousands of other people every day. And the best part: PIA doesn't keep any logs so if someone tries a legal avenue to get them to give up your actual IP address they can't because they don't know what it is.
