So, imagine there's a high-pressure water hose running rampant- flailing about everywhere, smacking into shit left and right.

A woman might approach the issue by trying to secure the hose to prevent it from hitting everything in sight and, in the process, get hit herself.

A man might approach the issue by walking over to the valve and simply shutting off the hose before it can do more damage.

In the woman's approach, the effect (a water hose playing snakey snakey) is addressed rather than the cause (the hose was turned on and left unattended). In both situations, the hose ended up getting secured, just in different ways.

Of course, this is just an extreme example to illustrate the point- I'm sure in a real life scenario the solution chosen would be a mixed bag between the sexes.
