This. I keep saying that this story is quite tropey although the show has been trying to make people believe otherwise.

People who were seemingly main characters died in the past, simply because they were not main characters at all. People assumed so at the time. The characters who survived until now are all major POV characters in the books and they are all endgame players, they will all survive till the end. Therefore nobody buys those "dead or not" tricks anymore.

And I think the ending will be quite tropey too, people who expect huge surprises will be disappointed, everything that fans have been theorizing since early seasons and books are happening, all the popular theories keep turning out to be true. The show is still trying to mislead people, with things like making Jaime staying loyal to Cersei although he abandoned her ages ago in the books, but everybody knows that he will turn against her soon like everybody guesses no matter how they try to make it a big surprise or whatever.

They really need to stop trying to fool people and people need to stop expecting shocking developments, original or crazy endings. It will all be tropey.
