Never underestimate the lengths someone will go to defend their kid. My dad scared the shit out of me one day when I saw how far he was willing to go. I was probably 13 playing ball in the middle of the street with some buddies and as I shot, a truck came speeding over the hill and well the basketball bounced awkwardly due to the hoop being a piece of shit and hit the truck. The man in the truck who lived a few houses down stopped and got out of his truck and started yelling at me. I remember backing up and tripping in my drive way damn near crying repeating it was an accident. All of a sudden my father comes outta nowhere and hits the dude in the head with a shotgun butt. He aimed it at the guy now on the ground and told him that if he ever saw the man even so much as look at me again he would kill him. The dude got back into his truck and drove on. My father dusted me off and told me to let him know when the police arrived, not to talk to them and to get him immediately. I didn't even stick around, I was so overwhelmed that afternoon.
