Wow. Do you have any idea how snotty and pompous you sound? Only people who have degrees in a topic have any right to discuss it? You have not attempted in any way whatsoever to explain anything to me, or back up any of your claims. For example,

Phantom genitalia? Are you kidding me? Seriously?

Instead of acting like a jerk why don't you explain what the difference is and perhaps link to more information?

Now, as to you not liking the journal I sourced, I can understand that if it is associated with pseudoscience. However, the author of that article has a PhD and appears to be a respected neurobiologist according to his wikipedia page.

What kind of studies do you want me to provide?

Anything? Anything that says gender identity disorder can be cured through therapy or other means, besides transition? Anything that implies gender identity is not biological in origin?

Now let me tell you something. No, I am not a scientist. I am an average person who happens to be trans, and in order to understand what I was going through, I tried to educate myself to the best of my ability. Most people who have rare illnesses or disorders make an attempt to learn about its so they can get the best treatment for themselves. Basically, there is a lot of evidence that transition helps people, and a lot of doctors and psychologists (including mine, at University of Michigan) agree with this. But I'm sure their education means nothing to you; anyone who disagrees with your point of view is "radicalized."

Regardless of your opinion, transition saved my life. I was suicidally depressed and now have a life worth living. While I don't believe being trans is a mental disorder, in the grand picture whether it is or not is irrelevant- finding the treatment that saves lives and gives people a better quality of life is what is really important.

I'm not claiming to know everything but I am trying to educate myself and others, to end the stigma that surrounds transsexuality. The only think you're doing is blowing up your self worth by repeating how educated you are, and not giving any useful information at all.
