Pro-Choice vs Pro-Life

Scenario #1: A man had sex with a woman in a one night stand. Unknown to him, the woman had a baby. The baby was born needing a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. The biological father is the only match. Yet, there is no law that can compel the father to donate his bone marrow to his own baby that is 2 days old. Why? Because he has bodily autonomy. The internal contents of his body belong 100% to him. Nobody can ever use them against his will.

Scenario #2: A drunk man hits a woman's truck with his car. The man dies. The woman loses her kidneys. The only way she can survive is if the man donates his kidney to her. However, no law exists that can possibly force that man's DEAD BODY to donate that kidney to her. This is because he has bodily autonomy, even when he is dead. The internal contents of his body always belong 100% to him. Nobody can ever use them unless he has consented.

Scenario #3: A woman has sex with a man. Unknown to him, she gets pregnant. The fetus needs her uterus to survive. But no law should be able to force her to keep letting the fetus use her uterus against her will. Why? Because of bodily autonomy. The internal contents of her body always belong 100% to her. Nobody can use them against her will.

If you disagree ONLY with the third scenario, you might have been brainwashed to think of pregnant women as less than human, with fewer rights over their bodies than even DEAD people.

Adoption isn't the best option but it is one.

Adoption is not a solution for unwanted pregnancy, it is a solution to unwanted PARENTHOOD. There is a difference. Women should not be treated as incubators without any right to bodily autonomy just because you find abortion distasteful.
