/r/KotakuInAction thread makes it to the front page of /r/all, other Redditors disapprove of their protest plans

I'm so conflicted over this issue.

On one hand, if a group was trying to get the PC culture to accept smoking, I would not be against an anti-movement to counter their rhetoric.

On the second hand, the great thing about Western culture is that we have agency over our own bodies and the ability to express ourselves in any way possible, if people want to get fat (or stay fat), that is up to them.

On the third hand, the HAES movement started in response to the impossible and potentially unhealthy standards promoted by the media and fashion, but it is obvious the pendulum has swung almost completely to the other side.

On the fourth hand, putting up pictures of fat people and laughing at them is not really helping anything, and is quite toxic. It is a very narcissistic way of telling the world "lol look how thin i am and look how fat and hammy they are."

On the fifth hand, I don't think putting up a publicly shared photo of someone and criticizing them is harassment, any more than this sub highlighting comments by redditors, photos of republicans/conservative religious, and any other demographic the reddit hivemind seems to despise is harassment.

I will say this. Pao is walking an extremely fine line, one that is inherently hypocritical from every angle. Republicans and conservatives on this website don't feel safe, and haven't for a long time. Does that mean I want /r/politics deleted? Absolutely not. They may think differently, and I might think their community is toxic, but I'm not about to cheer their deletion.

Yes, there are huge swaths of children acting like children in response to the FPH banning. But underneath there are valid concerns about what Pao and her staff did.
