Tobacco industry playbook used to kill renewables

I'm from England. In my humble opinion these windfarms are a complete con.

Rich land owners here get paid £100,00 a year here to have one of these monstrosities on their land. Money that is taken from everyday peoples pockets, via a 15% taxation on everyone's fuel bills. -Gas and electricity

So the poor are paying through the nose for wealthy land owners to receive insane amounts of money.

This has also caused much of our manufacturing, which consumes a majority of our electricity here, to move to countries that are cheaper and have little to no environmental policies. Places like China and Pakistan, that burn dirty coal and are building coal power stations at one a week.

Yesterday we had this appear in the news:

http://order-order.com/2015/06/25/green-subsidy-queen-cries-over-subsidy-cuts/#_@/pNWvZUC0WQ92rg

'Juliet Davenport, the Green subsidy queen who specialises in rinsing the taxpayer for her grand eco-schemes, has slammed the government for ending onshore wind subsidies a year earlier than planned. Apparently DECC’s short-sightedness will compromise the UK’s energy security…

That would be the same DECC who just approved her husband Mark Shorrock’s £1 billion plan to concrete over Swansea harbour and turn it into an experimental tidal power station. Once the Swansea project is built, Mark will be able to pass on taxpayer subsidised electricity to Juliet’s energy supply company Good Energy, which will sell it on for a premium. Kerching!'

Now I know most of us care about the environment but I really don't believe wind is the way forward. Not only do they quite often catch fire, kill birds and bats, they only last a few years and have to be backed up by gas turbines when the ind isn't blowing.

If Australia wants to invest in renewables, i believe it would be much wiser to invest in solar power.
