Guns are tools.

Tools used for killing things, including people.

I have nothing inherently against owning a gun.

But you don’t need an AR15 to defend your home or to hunt.

If you need more than two shots to hunt then you shouldn’t be hunting.

If you need an AR15 to defend your home you are more likely to kill one of your neighbors.

Guns like that are tools too. Tools for killing many people quickly.

I don’t own a gun. But I’ve considered it as I live in the middle of basically a Forrest surrounded by several potential dangerous animals. We also don’t have a police force in my town so if I call for help during a break in it would take some time for the state police or county sheriff to get here.

But so far I don’t have one and I certainly don’t need one to run to the corner store because I ran out of milk or something.

But even if I did get one it wouldn’t be a weapon better suited for a war zone.

So sure, they are tools, but tools for specific purposes. And the purpose of certain guns is nothing a civilian should need.
