Half a million walking in the streets of Montreal alongside Greta Thunberg today

Questions are good.

At this point, I feel citizens around the world have realized some governments have deceived or let them down in hopes of a sustainable future. As the impacts of global warming come to rise, it is becoming more apparent that our timeline is uncertain and our world may be very different within the next 50 years. While the rate of change is difficult to accurately pinpoint, the timeline is terrifying, to anyone.

These protests are on the global stage now, where they should be. You are correct, these protests won't help cool the surface temperatures, or lower emissions directly.

Think about this hypothetical scenario:

Would you personally kill a murderer for 1 cent? Probably not.

Would you kill a murderer for 1,000,000,000 dollars? Possibly.

Following this, I could ask you in increments of 1 cent all the way to 1,000,000,000 dollars if you would kill a murderer. Do you think your answer would be different 1 cent short of 1,000,000,000 dollars? No.

So in theory, somewhere within the number line of 1 cent ---> 1,000,000,000 dollars there is a transition from No I will not kill, to yes. Where is the number for you? Any those who are voted into office?

Following this idea, I'd agree with you by saying these protests are in the lower range of our money number line theory - there is no real incentive or threat. There are definitely people who are there for social media points.

Point being, we need to find that tipping point, not a citizen's tipping point- but those in power and the ability to invest in a sustainable future. These threats of a "ruining our future" is shit in wind to those in power. But it should be taken seriously as the longer these protests are needed to fuel a global message, the potential of violence comes into play. I am not promoting violence in any way - but the reality is if this continues to be ignored by those in power, people will become more scared.

Moving forward, I see two outcomes. We continue this bullshit of debating what is happening and who is to blame over the next decade and things go south quickly. I don't even really want to talk about it because I hate being considered an alarmist. But to me, it's fucking scary.

Or as I mentioned before, we incentivize those who have the ability to invest in a sustainable future to get the ball rolling, globally.

I feel I'm rambling now.

Sorry to all the Canadians for using dollars as an example.
