“Just like this...”

Women say they experience this behavior from men. You think they’re interpreting their personal life experiences incorrectly because you can’t relate or empathize. Fine, doesn’t change anything.

They experienced condescension from sexist men. I don't doubt for a second that it happens all the time. Chances are I've been guilty of it at some point in my life as well. I've also experienced condescension from sexist women and I've never been tempted to make that a gendered thing no matter how many times it's happened. I just chalk it up to shitty women being shitty.

You’ve avoided all the other points I’ve made and focused on the ones you felt you could challenge.

I focused on the part that I cared enough to post about it: that mansplaining is an unnecessary and sexist term and anyone using it is shooting themselves in the foot given how simply using the term can derail conversations
