it's a really unfortunate misconception that schizophrenics lack empathy and are generally sociopaths, but the older i get, the more i realize what that lack of empathy really is. it's a disconnection from the sense of community and teamwork people share, and an off-brand version of every other communal emotion. i care about humanity, but i don't trust anyone. i'll likely never see the shift in american culture to end homelessness, but i can easily see myself freezing to death on a sidewalk one day.

i may be better off just babbling until i'm stuck in a room somewhere. people have been trained not to pay this sort of thing any mind. i spend a lot of time thinking about how to provide a future for myself, and i can't say i've come up with anything that seems feasible. according to medical texts, i'll die early regardless.
