I mod at Dating Over Thirty. A few years back we had one poster who made a post about how his girlfriend manipulated him into paying for her vacation only for her to dump him the day she left and went with another man she'd been secretly dating behind his back.

Of course he was met with tons of sympathy. How awful, what a cruel woman, etc...

The woman in question however, happened to be a lurker on DoT and she showed up in the comments saying they hadn't been dating for over a year, she'd already paid for the vacation herself and he offered to pay for it if she took him back (which she refused to do). She had screenshots to back it up.

He sent me a private message asking me to delete her comments as she was 'clearly lying' to make him look bad and 'continue to traumatize' him. When I refused to, he threatened me. When that failed, he ended up deleting his post/account.
