I think I finally understand what you are trying to say with this sentence.

It's true: Me not getting a match is not because Joe Cool got it instead. It's not a zero-sum game. If I never existed, he would have got the match anyway, and if he never existed, I wouldn't have gotten the match anyway. So, on an individual level, you are completely correct.

But, that's not the argument that is really being made. It's that women have entree to very attractive men via OLD that they would otherwise not have with such ease. That leads to FOMO. Again, I actually think this is a good thing. It keeps women from settling for someone they do not find attractive (for a while, anyway). They can continue to date men they find attractive until they get lucky (like the rest of humanity).
